Two Big Questions:
What is The Art of Hosting anyway?
Well, it's not a program or a franchise or even a membership organization… It IS a network of people from all around the world who practice hosting meaningful dialogue and step into the fire around complex problems in this world. We share and learn with and from each other on a constant basis, and we shape and reshape what practices and patterns are emerging that help us do our work in the world.
We wonder: “What if learning together is the kind of leadership we need now?” Not that other forms are not important, but this is the one we need more of in most places. More about the Art of Hosting patterns and practices:

- It’s conversational, collaborative, collective leadership—a leader in every chair
- It's leading with questions and open heart, mind and spirit instead of pretending we have all the answers
- It’s practicing constantly--not something you do before you ramp up to the next level of leadership. “Practice locally, share globally” is a principle.
- It’s facing complex problems with complex processes--and not shying away from the things that lurk in the shadows--especially our own shadows, limiting beliefs and assumptions.
- It’s hosting and participating in conversations that really matter for people, not being in charge.
- It’s seeing the world as an interdependent, integral network instead of something to be exploited.
Will I be an expert host coming out of this training?
We call hosting an "art," so you probably can't master it in 3 days. We'll all come out of this shared experience as inspired and connected practitioners at many different levels of experience and skill. There is no certification process. We aim to launch people as practitioners who see their life and work a little differently and want to help each other evolve and begin mastering your skills. You'll share in the opportunity to get your hands on methods and to host parts of the workshop yourself, with support from the core team. We bring real life work and problems into our practices. There is no role playing--everything we do is real.
